Newton I. Kumwenda

He is a public health Scientist with a PhD and an expert in diseases or health risk assessment. He was a professor in the Department of Epidemiology at Johns Hopkins University in the USA for 20 years. For about 20 years he worked as the JHU lead scientist in a collaborative research project with the MOH and COM in Malawi. In 2015 he was elected Fellow of the Africa Academy of Scientist (FAAS). In 2019, he worked in the World Health Organization (WHO) regional Office in Harare Zimbabwe as Technical Officer on Strategic Information Officer. He also holds a bachelor’s Science Degree from the University of Malawi and Master of Science from University of London.
